Summer is over and fall is here. Stores are gearing up for all the coming holidays, and before you know it, the frenzy begins. So from now til Halloween is the calm before the storm. A double feature at my favorite theater, with a great friend is my way to enjoy this time. This week's movie picks are "Life As We Know It" and "Secretariat".
"Life As We Know It", starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel is a romantic comedy, born out of tragedy. These two are the best friends of a couple killed in a car crash, and are left to raise their orphaned daughter. Holly is a control freak and Messer is a womaniser. They can't stand each other, but know they have to make it work for Sophie. It's a funny, touching story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
"Secretariat" is the true story of the amazing racehorse that won the Triple Crown in 1973. Diane Lane and John Malkovich star in this inspiring tale of dreams and perseverance. It's great movie and a super second in a great double feature.
